Overall, 6,191 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Out of them, 350 tested positive which means less than 6% test positivity rate.
More new cases and fewer recoveries have happened for the first time in August. Due to this, the declining number of under-treatment patients saw a small spike and now 2,508 are under treatment.
Overall, 6,191 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Out of them, 350 tested positive which means less than 6% test positivity rate. Nagpur accounted for 153 cases out of Vidarbha’s total 350. In Nagpur’s 153 cases, 89 came from the city (NMC area) while 64 from rural Nagpur. The district now has 1,228 patients under treatment, with only 49 of them hospitalized. All others are recovering in home isolation.
More number of cases are being reported from Nagpur division (east Vidarbha) now as compared to Amravati (west Vidarbha). Amravati division had reported more cases in July compared to Nagpur division. The daily testing in all 5 districts of Amravati division is increasing, but the positivity rate has gone down there. On the contrary, more tests are yielding positive result in Gondia, Bhandara and Chandrapur districts. Even in Nagpur district, city has been reporting a decline in cases and rural Nagpur has seen a small spike.
All these changes show that highs and lows in Covid cases will continue. No death due to Covid was reported in the last 24 hours, thus the overall toll of Vidarbha stands unchanged at 21,798. The case fatality rate is 1.68%.
