India cases continue to dip, Himachal sees spike
On Monday, the day when cases fall sharply every week, India had reported 27,275 new cases, the lowest daily count in 147 days since March 15. On Tuesday, the number climbed to 38,350 (with Nagaland’s data yet to come), but remained lower than the count on the same day last week (42,497).

In Kerala, new cases rose to a five-day high of 21,119. Himachal Pradesh, however, continued to report a spike in cases, with Tuesday’s count rising to 419, the highest in almost two months since June 11 (505). India reported 498 deaths from the virus on Tuesday (with Nagaland’s data not in). Active cases declined to less than 3.9 lakh.
