IMA seeks rationalisation of bio-med waste charges for pvt hosps

As per IMA doctors, a fixed charge is collected by Raipur Municipal Corporations for door-to-door waste collection and annual fees for operating the business and institutions in the city, but the rate for these two charges is higher for clinics and hospitals. No other business is charged as much as like clinics and hospitals, which are charged double that of other businesses.
All health care centres pay a separate fee for biomedical waste and the amount of non-biomedical waste generated from clinic diagnostic centres and small hospitals is very less , said IMA doctorsThe delegation of IMA including Dr Rakesh Gupta, Dr Vikas Agrawal and Dr Anil Jain demanded to make reasonable changes in the fee charged by the urban body for all nursing homes and hospitals including clinics, diagnostic and pathology centres.
The urban administration minister has assured to look into the IMA demands.
