Goa: Covid-19 positivity rate drops to 3%
Goa’s daily count of Covid-19 cases dropped below 50 on Thursday, while recoveries for the day numbered 59. The tally of active cases on Thursday stood at 683 and the case positivity rate reduced to 3%. With no casualties reported, the mortality count remained at 778.
There were less hospital admissions too during the day. A total of 24 patients were hospitalised while 25 opted to be home isolated.
Meanwhile, the state received an additional 67,000 doses of Covishield on Thursday. Along with healthcare workers, the vaccination of 15,657 frontline workers has commenced.
Healthcare workers who received the first dose of the Covid vaccine on January 16 will be administered the booster dose on Friday. The booster dose must be given 28 days after the first one.
The directorate of health services aims to complete phase one of vaccination by March 12.
