Covid-19 positivity rate above 1% after a month
Covid positivity rate in Uttarakhand crossed the 1% mark after a month on Monday. It was 1.27%. On February 27, sample positivity had stood at 1.2% and thereafter constantly dipped for a month. The state recorded 42 fresh Covid cases on Monday with total active cases having spiked to 199.
Twenty-eight fresh Covid cases were registered in Haridwar on Monday, a day after President Ram Nath Kovind visited the city. Following protocol, health workers conducted aggressive monitoring and sampling of the teams involved and locals who attended the function. Five cops and a few people randomly sampled at various health facilities tested positive, said health officials.
Five fresh cases were recorded in Dehradun and Nainital each, and one in Pauri and Uttarkashi each. On Monday, 3,268 samples were sent for testing while so far, roughly 4.3 lakh cases samples have been found positive. About 19,600 (96%) people have been cured. TNN
