Covid-19: India reports 2,288 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, sees over 28% dip
With 2,288 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's total tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 4,31,07,689 while the active cases increased to 19,637, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Tuesday. The active cases constituted 0.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent, the health ministry said.
A decrease of 776 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.47 per cent and weekly positivity rate at 0.79 per cent, the data said.
Meanwhile, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 18.15 crore (18,15,94,995) balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
India’s Covid vaccination coverage has exceeded 190.50 crore (1,90,50,86,706) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,37,09,334 sessions. Vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.06 crore (3,06,99,031) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of the vaccine. Similarly, the precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
