'Cervical cancer is no threat if detected early'
Cervical cancer affects 1.2 lakh Indian women every year. Out of these, 71,000 do not survive — experts say one woman dies of cervical cancer every seven minute in India.
To make women aware about common health hazards, including cervical cancer, Women Doctors Wing (WDW) of Ahmedabad Medical Association will organize ‘Eve Women’s Conference’ on Sunday.
WDW chairperson Dr Mona Desai said: “Earlier, women were uneducated and dependent. But today they are educated and financially independent. Yet our lives are full of stress and worries. Hence, we want to give women a solution to their health problems through our conference. When they are healthy, they’ll be able to focus on important things in a better way.”
