Cath labs to come up in 4 district hospitals of Haryana
Haryana health minister Anil Vij said cath labs for diagnostic purposes would be set up in four district hospitals of the state under a pilot project. Later on, the laboratories would be established in all hospitals.
He said it was the first of its kind programme started in Haryana under which bedsheets of seven different colours would be used in all hospitals in the state. He said the experiment would be replicated in all medical colleges in the second phase so that patients could get clean and hygienic bedsheets everyday. Days’ names have been scripted on each bedsheet for its identification so that common person could confirm the change of bedsheet as per day.
The department had purchased over 2.64 lakh bedsheets at the cost of about Rs 5.26 crore. The inspection about thread count, colour and washing were conducted by the government textile lab at Panipat. The programme aimed at providing hygienic atmosphere in hospitals.
The health minister said basic amenities in hospitals in the state had been upgraded during last two years as a result of which people’s faith in hospitals of the state had increased. “After the formation of the present government, facility of dialysis has been started in 14 district hospitals and MRI machines in nine hospitals. These facilities will be provided in all district hospitals,” said Vij.
