Algimed Techno exhibits unique screening kit for cervix status prediction at Arab Health 2022

Dubai: Algimed Techno will be exhibiting several types of research kits that can help in antibiotics and pyrogens determination, PCR of Sars-Cov-2, early cancer detection amongst others from January 24-27 at the Arab Health 2022. This will also include a unique miRNA screening kit- NOVAprep for CERVIX status prediction which can especially be beneficial to detect cervical cancer in women.

About six lakh new cases and estimated three lakh deaths from cervical cancer are reported annually. Early detection of the disease results in higher chances of achieving success in the treatment of patients around the world.

The kit is intended for the differential diagnosis of conditions ranging from mild dysplasia (LSIL) to severe dysplasia (HSIL) of the cervical epithelium, including precancerous conditions of the cervix by means of correlation of specific microRNA. NOVAprep miRNA screening kit provides high-value results as a stand-alone personalized method for direct screening and determination of cervical conditions. The kit in combination with traditional diagnostic methods including standard liquid cytology and HPV test can help in detection. It can also be crucial in cases where cytological examination cannot confidently differentiate between borderline pathological conditions of the cervical epithelium. The kit can be used for the semi-quantitative analysis of the concentration of six small regulatory RNA molecules (microRNA) in a cervical epithelial smear sample.

The kit can be beneficial in direct diagnosis of the condition of the patient's cervix, complementing the results of traditional/liquid cytology, can be combined with other PCR tests for improved diagnosis, additional clarification of HPV testing and traditional cytology and screening for prevention of cervical cancer and dysplasia. The miRNA screening kit NOVAprep has displayed 92 percent clinical sensitivity and analytical sensitivity. The analytical specificity stands at around 100 percent for the testing kit.
