Chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy will be covered under Ayushman Bharat in day-care services. The diseases covered will include blood cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, gynaecology cancer, bone cancer and urogenital cancers.
In an effort to make expensive cancer treatments accessible to financially weaker patients, the Government Doon Medical College and Hospital (GDMCH) would now provide targeted gene therapy under the Ayushman scheme. This is the first such initiative in Uttarakhand, said GDMCH officials.
